Welcome to Annalogue

Thanks for visiting my website. This is something I keep up for fun and to stay in touch with my family and friends. The content is rated G for grandparents. The blog is a personal, journal-type mix of observation, travelog, and boredom. It has little bearing on my work or studies, but it lives here all the same.

About This Anna Person

my face

Anna is an Oregon-grown Vassar grad who likes web scripting, critical theory, dance, mobile phones, the Pacific Northwest, and photography. She just finished a year in Oslo on a Fulbright fellowship to research cell phones and social networks. She lives and works in Washington DC.

Here are some other sites I've built for classes:

  • Alexander the Great: An essay for my first college seminar, a Classics course on antiquity in the digital age
  • Image/Text: In this project for a course by the same name I took and blogged a series of closely cropped pictures of Vassar College landmarks and asked students and professors to post interpretations
  • War Media & Myth: A lengthy essay for a sociology seminar on media and war
  • Photos from my thesis: This is an unpolished version of an idea for an interactive photo exhibit of the Hudson River Psychiatric Center, an asylum slated for remodel that later burned down
